American Sign Language (ASL)

FREE Class! Learn the basics of American Sign Language. Build meaningful connections with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

Wednesday Evenings

Time: 5:00pm-6:30pm

Location: Multi-Purpose Room

These sessions will be taught by Michael Snell and assisted by Erika Shoemaker. Erika is Deaf and a member of the Wabash County YMCA staff, bringing lived experience and additional support to the class.

Monthly Family Nights –

When: August- June
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

We will host a free family event on the second Tuesday of each month, featuring themed activities, games, and opportunities for families to connect. Check out the upcoming themes and stay tuned for more details!

Teen programs are for ages 8 and up. Free for members and  $5 non members. Drop your teen off to participate in fun clubs – no need to bring anything. We provide snacks.

SAFE SITTER / BABYSITTER CLASS

Prepare your teen to confidently handle emergencies while home alone or babysitting. Safe Sitter® is a nationally recognized babysitting training program designed for students ages 11–18.

Participants will learn essential safety, childcare, and life skills to help them become responsible and capable babysitters.

What Students Will Learn

• Safety and child care skills
• Life and business skills for babysitting
• How to care for a choking infant or child
• Basic first aid and rescue skills
• How to prevent unsafe situations
• What to do during emergencies such as power outages, severe weather, and more

TEEN BREAK CARE
Join us at the Wabash County YMCA when school is out for winter and spring breaks! Teens can hang out in the Teen Room, go swimming, play video games, do arts and crafts, and enjoy fun, festive activities. Spring Break will also include field trips announced closer to the program date.

WINTER BREAK DETAILS

Cost: Members $15/day | Non-members $25/day
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and snack provided
Please note: The Y is closed Dec 25 and Jan 1, and no care is provided Dec 24 or Dec 31 due to early closure.
Late Registration: $10 fee if not registered 2 days prior (this is why two prices appear online).

Cost: Members $99 | Non-members $119

CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations must be made in writing to Spencer Brown.

14+ days before camp date = 100% refund (minus deposit)

7–13 days before camp date = 50% refund (minus deposit)

TEEN NIGHT OUT

Event Dates:    6PM – 10 PM at the Y Fridays

5p-9p Saturdays

• Details: For ages 11-16. The events will feature different fun activities including hanging out in the teen room, swimming, special projects and snacks around the theme of the month!
• Dinner and snacks will be provided.
• Cost: $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
