SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE

The YMCA is here to support your family with dependable, high-quality child care programs tailored to the needs of working parents and growing children. Whether you need care before school, after school, or on non-school days, the Y provides a safe, enriching environment where kids can learn, grow, and thrive.

Before and After School care is available at OJ Neighbors, LH Carpenter, and Manchester Elementary, offering a structured, fun-filled setting that encourages confidence, friendship, and personal growth beyond the classroom.

After School care only is available at Metro North Elementary and Southwood Elementary, ensuring children have a consistent, supportive space to end their school day on a positive note.

Learning doesn’t have to stop when school ends! At the Wabash County YMCA, we believe that the hours around the school day are an opportunity to build the minds of tomorrow’s leaders!
The YMCA offers before and after-school care at local schools; the students receive a healthy snack, homework help, STEAM involvement, physical activities, and nutrition activities with fun mentors and teachers.
Limited grant funded spots available at no charge. Please apply by July 3rd, 2025 to be considered.

  • Please bring your bathing suit and towel.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and snack will be provided.
  • Dress for indoor/outdoor play (tennis shoes required).

Care is only available when schools are closed. Must have current Liability waiver form on file at the Wabash County YMCA prior to participation and shot record.

Please note we are closed on Dec 25th and Jan 1st. We do not provide care on Dec 24 and Dec 31 due to the Y closing early for the holidays.
